BEST AVOCADO TUNA SALAD RECIPE!! NOREEN'S KITCHEN
Hi everyone, welcome back to the kitchen today
We're gonna make something for lunch dinner or whenever you are hungry, but you want to stay on track today
We're going to be making an avocado
Tuna salad that's going to use avocado and Greek yogurt to replace the mayonnaise
That's gonna put a lot of fat in there. So let's go see how this all comes together
Today we are going to make a super healthy lunch
And it can be low-carb if you so choose we're gonna be making an avocado tuna salad
And it's really delicious and it has zero mayonnaise in it. What I have here are two cans of solid white albacore. Tuna
That I have that was packed in water that I have flaked to make the dressing part in place of mayonnaise
We're gonna use three to four tablespoons
It's up to you of good quality Greek yogurt. This is plain Greek yogurt
I have a half of an avocado that we're gonna mash we're gonna mash all this together
We're gonna put a half a cup of green onion both white and green parts sliced
1/2 the cup of diced celery and I have a half a teaspoon of my crazy salt blend here
you can just use salt and pepper or whatever seasonings you prefer a good a
Good seafood seasoning like Old Bay is always good here as well. So this really could not be easier you
Guys know how to make tuna salad. Maybe you don't but it's really simple
So what we're gonna do first is I'm gonna take this fork that is in my tuna Bowl and I'm just gonna mash this avocado
I'm gonna start off with about half of this yogurt
Because I do not like my tuna salad very moist
So we're gonna go with that and then we'll bring our tuna over
I'm gonna put all of our onions all of our celery and of course, this is subjective
Do you and not enjoy celery do you not enjoy?
Green onion use white onion sweet onion red onion, whatever you got don't like onion leave it out
You can put shredded carrots in here. You can do chop bell pepper
Whatever you like best is what you should put in your tuna salad
This is just something that I like to put in my tuna salad now, we're gonna go ahead and bring our dressing over
That actually looks about right to me
So we'll go ahead and mix this up and see where we are if it's a little too dry
I'll add the rest of the yogurt
You can always add more but you can't take it out once it's in there
Then you gotta open up another can of tuna and nobody wants to do that. Okay, I am gonna add the rest of this yogurt
And honestly, look at that tuna salad, you can't tell that that was made with an avocado dressing instead of mayonnaise
It looks just like regular tuna salad. I'm gonna go ahead and season this up you can season yours
However, you like you don't have to add my crazy salt you can add
Seasoned salt or like I said old bay or whatever it is
You enjoy I'm gonna give this a taste see how I like it. That's pretty good. That's not bad
Let me bring over the bread and we'll make a sandwich
I have a couple of slices here of
Toasted whole-grain bread you want to put I'd say about a half a cup of this mixture on your sandwich
At this point you can turn this into a patty melts by adding a slice of cheese and putting it under the broiler
you can leave it open-faced and just enjoy it like this you can put tomato or
Lettuce on here, but this how I'm gonna enjoy it
I'm just gonna put the lid on it and I'm gonna cut it in half. Well there you have it
There's our avocado tuna salad sandwich on some whole-grain bread
I've put some celery sticks and cherry tomatoes on the side for a crunchy sweet option to go along with your sandwich
Trust me, you are not going to sacrifice flavor by taking up the fat from the mayonnaise in this salad. You're gonna love it
It's delicious. It's versatile. Like I said, you can do this open-faced
You can make a tuna melt out of this by adding some cheese and popping it under the broiler
You can put this into a tortilla wrap or a low-carb wrap
You can put this as a lettuce wrap by stuffing it inside some romaine lettuce leaves. The options are unlimited
you can also just serve this in a bowl with some lettuce tomato cucumber and eat it like a
Delicious salad a scoop is gonna satisfy you and it's going to be awesome
I that you enjoy this particular version of tuna salad because it's the beginning of the year
a lot of people are focusing on getting
A little healthier after the holidays and maybe you're just someone who enjoys a little bit of a more healthy lifestyle

The new year is here and for many that means fighting off the indulgences of the holiday season. Yes, we celebrated and yes we enjoyed ourselves. Now that the new year has turned over, it is time to concentrate on getting back into healthier habits. With this in mind I am sharing with you my recipe for a delicious alternative to a mayo laden tuna salad. This avocado tuna salad is delicious and I promise you won't even miss the mayo! This is creamy from the avocado, tangy from fat free Greek yogurt and it has crunch from fresh celery and a little heat from fresh green onion. This will take the sting out of getting back into the swing of things! #avocado #tuna #healthy #healthychoices #lightandeasy #quick #lunchideas #lowcarb #homemade #recipe #love #noreenskitchen I don't know about you, but I hate fat free mayo, fat free cream cheese, or just about fat free anything. They are usually filled with fake ingredients and chemicals you can't pronounce. I enjoy a tuna sandwich from time to time and when getting back on track, tuna is an easy option to reach for when taking lunch to work or getting lunch on the go. This salad employs avocado and yogurt to give you the creaminess you desire in your tuna salad and it does not disappoint. I have used two cans of albacore tuna, packed in water. I have drained and flaked the tuna. The dressing is one half of a ripe avocado, mashed and mixed with 1/4 cup of good quality, fat free Greek Yogurt. I like the Greek God's brand of yogurt. You can find it in both fat free and full fat. Your choice. If you are vegan you can always choose coconut yogurt or soy yogurt as your option. I add celery and green onion for crunch and flavor, but this is also delicious with regular onion and bell pepper added. I know some people enjoy adding hard cooked eggs to their tuna salad and if that is something you enjoy, go for it. If you don't like something I have added, simply leave it out. As for seasonings, I am using a bit of my homemade crazy salt blend, but you could just as easily use salt and pepper or a seafood seasoning such as Old Bay. Mix this all together and add more yogurt and more avocado if you like it moister than I do. I do not like my tuna too loose. You should make yours the way you prefer. I am serving mine on whole grain bread but you could turn this into an open faced sandwich or even a tuna melt by adding a slice of cheese and popping under the broiler. Are wraps more your style? Add this to a tortilla or low carb wrap or even a half of a whole grain pita pocket. If none of those strike your fancy then add a scoop to a brimming bowl of greens and veggies and enjoy with a drizzle of your favorite dressing. The possibilities here are endless and the flavor is phenomenal. Getting back on track after the holidays never tasted so good. If you are not a fan of tuna, consider using canned chunk chicken to make a salad in this way. I think you will enjoy it equally. I hope you give this avocado tuna salad a try sometime soon and I hope you love it! Happy Eating!
